Privacy Policy
The purpose of this page is to give users of my app TransMission Control a clear idea of what data is collected by this app and how it is used and stored.
Data Collected by TransMission Control
What kind of data? - The only user generated data currently handled by the core TransMission Control game app are in-game statistics generated by game play and names and settings for custom modes.
How is this data handled? - All of this data is stored and handled locally on the user's device and is not transmitted anywhere in any form to anyone. All of this data can be manually deleted by the user at any time and at no time can it be linked to any specific person, location, or device.
Data Collected by Third Parties
Aside from the data described above, Transmission Control also displays ads with the help of Google AdMob. To do so effectively Admob collects certain user data, a detailed description of which can be found here: https://developers.google.com/admob/android/play-data-disclosure
While TransmissionControl works on the basis of trust in Google and its services and the privacy policies with regards to such, for the purpose of clarity a short breakdown of how this service handles data is also given below:
What types of data?
Admob collects data for three reasons:
Targeted Advertising: Admob collects this data to ensure ads are relevant to the user. By Google's policy a user may opt out of targeted advertising at any time by accessing their account settings and turning off ad personalization. This may be done here: https://adssettings.google.com/
General Usage Data: Admob collects general data about location and app usage to help the developer better understand how people are using TransMission Control and how to improve the app.
Diagnostic Data: Admob collects data about bugs, app crashes, and machine performance to help the developer identify serious issues that may render TransMission Control unusable and therefore need to be fixed.
What Exactly Does Admob Collect?
Account and Device Identifiers: If your Google account is set so that ad personalization is turned on, AdMob will collect information identifying your account and device. It will do so only for the duration that ads are served while using TransMission Control. AdMob uses this information to build a better idea of what products are relevant to you and serve you ads accordingly across apps that use AdMob and other Google services to display ads. This information is not shared with the developers of TransMission Control and the developers do not require that you provide this information, sign in to any account or even stay connected to the internet to use TransMission Control. Ad personalization can be turned off across Google products at any time from here: https://adssettings.google.com/
IP Address: AdMob collects the user's IP address which can be used to generally estimate a user's location. AdMob does not pass this information to the developer but does provide country-wise usage statistics derived from this information across instances when Transmission Control is used. This information is not linked to the user's account in any way and cannot be used to identify the individual user. None of this information is used, stored, handled, or transmitted by the developers at TransMission Control or any third party other than AdMob.
User Product Interactions: During the course of serving ads while TransMission Control is running, AdMob collects data on user interactions including taps and video views. This helps AdMob and the developer understand the effectiveness of the ads being served. AdMob also records when the app is launched to help understand how often TransMission Control is used. This information is linked to the user's general location, device type and Android version in terms of general country-wise, device-wise, and Android version-wise statistics but is not linked to the user's specific location, device, account, or identity in anyway and cannot be used to identify the user. None of this information is used, stored, handled, or transmitted by the developers at TransMission Control or any third party other than AdMob.
Diagnostic Information: In order to better understand the effects of running TransMission Control and AdMob services on the user's Android software and other hardware, Admob collects information about how often and when TransMission Control crashes, how often and when it is unresponsive, how long it takes to start and why there may be delays and how much strain it puts on the user's battery. This information may be linked to the user's general location, device type and Android version in terms of general country-wise, device-wise, and Android version-wise statistics but is not linked to the user's specific location, device, account, or identity in anyway and cannot be used to identify the user. None of this information is used, stored, handled, or transmitted by the developers at TransMission Control or any third party other than AdMob.
