The Game

The Basics

You start out with a population of robots spread across the screen. Just like people in real life, they move about at random speed in random directions and are generally unpredictable. At the start of the game one of them is already a carrier for the pandemic.

The robot's faces tell you what symptoms the have. Blue means normal, yellow means mild symptoms, red means they are very sick, and green means they have recovered. (Some robots turn purple. That means they are very sick but don't have symptoms for the pandemic)

The tools at your disposal?

  1. Testing: With a single tap, find out whether a robot is infected with the pandemic or not. Blue headlights means they are untested, amber means we're waiting for results, green means they tested negative for the pandemic, and red means they're infected.

  2. Quarantine: Double tap anyone who seems unwell to put them into quarantine and lower their chance of infecting others. A quarantined robot's engine glows red.

  3. Contact Tracing: Hold your finger on any robot to find out who it's been in close contact with. They can be the first on your list for testing and/or quarantine.

  4. The Ambulance: If a robot is really unwell or you just want them in the hospital to keep others safe, start dragging it to one of the corners of the screen. An ambulance will appear, along with three hospitals marked 'H'. Take the ambulance to the hospital and doctors and nurses behind the scene will do the rest.

  5. Lockdown: If things seem to be getting out of hand and you're starting to feel overwhelmed, tap the 'Lockdown' button at the top of the screen to order a general lockdown so the robots can start social distancing on their own. Robots that honor the lockdown have engines that glow amber. Be warned though, at higher difficulties many robots may choose to ignore your commands!

The game ends automatically when the number of active cases hits 0.

But things are not always easy. In some modes tests may not give you the right results. In some modes, the in-game stats that guide you absolutely depend on these tests. There may also be diseases with symptoms much like pandemic. And sometimes, in spite of their best efforts, hospitals will not be able to save everyone.

However, it is possible to get through every difficulty mode with 0 deaths at least once. I have done it. I believe that you can too.

So good luck and stay strong!
